Participate in Study on Web 2.0 and its Implications for Social Marketing

Attention  Social marketers in Australia and the United Kingdom

Would really appreciate you  participating  in an innovative study about Web 2.0 on behalf of the University of Wollongong located in New South Wales, Australia.

What is Web 2.0?

Web 2.0 is the use of Web pages as a two-way communication form between users, allowing them to socialize online and prepare as well as share content (such as information, photos, videos, and links). Social media (Facebook and Twitter) is commonly referenced when referring to Web 2.0. Social media is personal Websites, which exist within the framework of a larger Web platform, allowing users to create communities by linking up as friends for media sharing and socializing purposes.

What Would You Do?

You are being asked to review questions for an upcoming quantitative research study about Web 2.0. There is no known risk in taking part. Your participation will help to form the most comprehensive and understandable online survey questions for future use with Web 2.0 users. If you have questions or concerns related to the discussion you will be given follow-up information.

What Type of Participants Are Needed?

Participants are needed who reside in Australia and the United Kingdom and are in the following age categories: 18-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, & 65+.
NOTE – academics or those not living in Australia/United Kingdom are not eligible

How Long and What Questions Will You Be Asked?

Using an interview format, you will be asked to fill out a 15 minute survey online and a 45 minute follow up feedback document. Typical questions include: your general use of Web 2.0 (such as whether you have posted comments to a blog), the privacy settings of your social networking profile (if you have one), and if you have ever joined a health-related group on a social networking site. Your participation will help to form the most comprehensive and understandable online survey questions for future use with Web 2.0 users.

Who Do You Contact if You are Interested?

If you are interested in participating, please contact Jennifer Dooleyjd711@uowmail.edu.au  to schedule a discussion. Interviews will begin in early February and will be conducted over the telephone or Skype.
