The World Social Marketing Conference – Toronto 2013

The Centre of Excellence for Public Sector Marketing is delighted to be involved with the  World Social Marketing Conference, which will take place in Toronto, Canada from April 21-23, 2013.

Having attended the world conference in Dublin I am very much looking forward to the conference being held in Canada next April, for the first time.

The World Social Marketing Conference is a vehicle to help build a global movement dedicated to capturing, spreading and nurturing good practice in social marketing. This conference attracts the best presenters in the social marketing world.  For example at next year’s conference we are extremely fortunate to have Philip Kotler who created the social marketing discipline in the early 70’s as one of our key note speakers.

The conference attracts participants from many countries and you will get the opportunity to meet social marketers from Australia, Africa, Asia, Europe, South and North America. This is a tremendous opportunity to learn from social marketers around the world and most important the opportunity to network with social marketers like yourself.

You will have the opportunity to experience Canadian hospitality and who knows while you are here you may want to take short trip to Niagara Falls which is not to far or maybe get on the 401 and explore Ontario including the capital city Ottawa or why not visit one of the great cities of the world Montréal.

The conference takes place at Westin Harbour Castle located in the heart of downtown Toronto with easy access to the bustling centre of the city. For those who have never been to Toronto the hotel is a stone’s throw to the theater district, great shopping, restaurants and pubs and the waterfront opens up a world of possibilities for attendees.

 Showcase Your Work

Please Note: The conference is inviting submissions to be considered for oral and poster presentation.  Proposed sessions should demonstrate the application of social marketing in promoting social good. They may describe policy change, field case studies, technical innovation, and innovative research, teaching approaches or theoretical advancements. Of particular interest are submissions related to:  important current social issues, innovation and promoting the application of social marketing. The topic areas that are being emphasised at the 2013 World Social Marketing Conference: are Environment, Sustainability, Children & young people, Health, Public Transport, Technology, Crime, Safety, Social engagement, and Developing world issues.
